Cliff Turk has presented many lectures on astronomical subjects and has conducted night viewing demonstrations to groups at all levels of understanding. He is an Honorary Member of the Astronomical Society of Southern Africa, having previously served as president (1986–1987), business manager (1996–2009) and honorary treasurer (2003–2010). He is also a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, a member of the British Astronomical Association and an Honorary member of the Hampshire Astronomical Group.
