Bruce Cairncross is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Geology at the University of Johannesburg. He is semi-retired, but continues his research and publications documenting southern Africa’s mineralogical heritage. He has authored twelve books and over 200 articles on the region’s minerals and gemstones.
