SOUTH AFRICA WINS ‘BEST ON SHOW’

How did South Africa win its 34th Gold medal and awards for new design and ‘best on show’ at the 2024 Chelsea Flower Show? Leon will share an in-depth look into Team South Africa’s journey to bring our fynbos back to the flower show after a four-year absence.

Leon Kluge studied horticulture and landscape design abroad and began his career developing landscapes for spice estates on the French island of Mayotte. Upon returning to South Africa, he founded the award-winning Fever Tree Nursery in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, where his distinctive designs gained global recognition. Leon is the only African landscape designer to win the Gardening World Cup in Japan and has been named Best Designer at the Philadelphia Flower Show. He is a multiple gold medalist at the Chelsea Flower Show in London and the first African designer to win Gold and Best in Show at the Singapore Garden Festival and the New Zealand International Flower Show.
