Steve Collins is a biologist who has worked in or visited over 50 African countries and the surrounding islands. In 1996, he founded the African Butterfly Research Institute (ABRI), which houses the most comprehensive collection of African butterflies. He has authored over 100 scientific papers on African butterflies, their life histories, biology and ecology, and has written several books on the subject.
