The late Anthony Fairall was a Professor of Astronomy at the University of Cape Town, and Planetarium Astronomer at Iziko Museums of Cape Town. He completed a BSc Hons at UCT, and a PhD at the University of Texas. His research career spanned more than 30 years. He produced some 200 research papers, wrote a university textbook and authored Starwatching and Cosmology Revealed. He was an Associate of the Royal Astronomical Society (UK), and a Fellow of the University of Cape Town and of the International Planetarium Society.
